WELCOME to the 2008 glencoe grand prix!

Dear Rider,

Welcome to this year’s version of the Glencoe Grand Prix website. We’re most excited to announce that AT&T is the presenting sponsor for the second annual Glencoe Grand Prix. Last year’s race was a success with more than 325 riders toeing the line and with AT&T’s support, we’re confident this year’s version will be even better.

Thanks to AT&T and our other important corporate sponsors, including Alberto’s Sport Bike Shop, our improvements for 2008 include:

Larger purses
Winners jerseys
Lower entry fees
Medical tent
SRAM neutral support
Host hotel with discounted rates
Race photos available for purchase by a professional    photographer
Chip timing utilizing the AMB chipX timing system
(for all but the two juniors races).

This last item is most important. Chip timing will allow us to provide much quicker results, places down to the last rider, various race statistics and an additional level of professionalism that we think amateur cycling in IL deserves. To that end, due to cost, we will not be able to discount second races. We hope you understand and will find the service worth the extra cost.

We’ll still have the kid races, the carnival hosted by the Glencoe Chamber of Commerce, a vendor village including vintage and current cycling art for sale and food. We’re looking forward to seeing new faces and old friends on the 10th!

Again, if you have any questions, please email me at jon.knouse@gmail.com or call at 847.987.0819.

Regards,

Jon Knouse
Race Director
